Toru means “through” in Japanese and Nendo’s creative imagination turns the handle of this unprecedented electric kettle into a spout, which runs playfully through the steel volume of the body.
An ironic yet intellectual approach to composition that softens the metallic material without altering its refined aura.

Nendo is a design firm based in Tokyo, Japan, and Milan, Italy.
Nendo took on designing the Olympic Cauldron used in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and select works that Nendo has been involved in designing are featured in museums around the world, such as New York’s Museum of Modern Art.
